Future Carbon had entered into the cook stove manufacturing market in Bangladesh to introduce energy efficient, less pollutant and durable clean cooking solution in the country at a price that can be affordable for the rural and semi-urban communities. - b) Eco-friendly Off-Grid Solar Lantern and Pico Solar Home System (Pico-SHS)
Bangladesh lacks in reliable energy supply in the off-grid areas due to the unavailability of required infrastructural development in the country.
Electricity Access Rate of Bangladesh is 62% [Including Off-grid renewable energy] and the present share of renewable energy is only 2.5%. According to Power System Master Plan 2010 this share was expected to be 5% of total generation from renewable sources by 2015 and 10% of the same by 2020.
In order to contribute in this energy supply gap in Bangladesh, Future Carbon had taken initiatives to disseminate state of the art off-grid solutions through its business associates JadRoo Power Limited partnering in the Lighting Asia Bangladesh (LAB) programme which was initiated by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ).
